Hello! My name is Chrys Duran and I am a performer and stage combatant from Denver, Colorado.

Who Am I?

I am certified through Dueling Arts International (DAI) as a Level 3 Advanced Actor Combatant and a Level 1 Associate Instructor.

I am a freelance choreographer and instructor who has worked with several projects and companies throughout the Denver Metro area, including Local Theater Company, Shifted Lens Theatre Company, and the Actors Academy for the Performing Arts.

My Mission

My personal mission with stage combat is to effectively tell a story through movement; I’m not interested in making a swordfight look flashy for no reason — I’m dedicated to telling the audience what they need to know about the characters and the stakes, and lead the story to where it needs to go, like any good choreography should.

What Can I Do?

Through DAI, I am qualified to teach and certify students in the six main weapon disciplines; unarmed, broadsword, single rapier, rapier & dagger, smallsword, and quarterstaff.

I can choreograph fights with just about anything. Swords are my favorite, but many of these techniques are transferable — I’ve choreographed stage violence with knives, crowbars, canes, bottles, shovels, and more! Resumé here.
